Housing Estate Klushof

In recent years, the housing company STÄWOG in Bremerhaven has modernised two neighbourhoods of plain residential buildings from the 1950s and made some of them barrier-free. In doing so, it has taken unusual paths - in order to preserve affordable housing and to promote cooperation among tenants. The project by architect Hans-Joachim Ewert was completed back in 2018 and was awarded the Bremen Housing Prize 2025 last year. It had also received the national award ‘Gegen den Strom – Soziale Stadt Wulsdorf’ as early as 2019.
