Partisan Hill

Partisan Hill (Bastion Sakwowy) was once an important part of Wroclaw's 16th century defences. It protected the city until 1807, before Jérôme-Napoléon Bonaparte conquered Wroclaw and the fortifications were demolished. This paved the way for the green city promenade, which was created according to the plans of Johann Friedrich Knorr. A hill with old casemates remained as a silent witness to the past. After an extensive two-year restoration by Castellum sp z o.o., the building now shines in new splendour and is once again open to the residents of Wroclaw.
